“ This is an insanely incredible experience. Very theatrical and combinations of ingredients I’d never thought possible let alone taste so good. I particularly loved how most of it is foraged or locally sourced and beautifully presented. A series of plates and dishes of perfectly presented food all delicious. Set aside at least 2 1/2 hours and prepare to be entertained! Drinks are expensive, but lunch is a bargain and really this should be at least 2 Michelin stars, it’s far above many 1 stars I’ve eaten at recently. Don’t hesitate but do book. ”

“ Fantastic dinner. Great service, amazing cooking and wonderful wine list, but the wine pairing is very good. We stayed over, I would 100% recommend this, the rooms are fantastic and the breakfast is very good takes all the worry out of who will drive or not drive. They were very welcoming with our dog, everyone knew his name when we arrived and they had personalised treats and blankets for him. All in this was an amazing experience from start to finish ”

I thoroughly enjoyed Le Cochon Aveugle, the owners' previous restaurant in York, and was excited to try Myse. In all ways it was an improvement on Le Cochon Aveugle, clearly making good use of the larger space, kitchen and land outside the restaurant itself. Each dish was wonderful, with excellent pairings and a delightful combination regardless of wine or soft pairing, but each had their own identity. As always, the staff were helpful, friendly and enthusiastic to explain the dishes. ”

Staff were wonderful - knowledgeable, really accommodating and thoughtful (even came to meet us at the car and took our bags in for us when we arrived). The room was also great. “ I've been lucky enough to travel and stay in many wonderful and unique establishments around the world but none compare to how welcome and comfortable the good people at Myse made us feel. The attention to detail is second to none, they strive to proactively make guests comfortable in thier immaculately clean and well-maintained rooms and restaurant. The food is an experience that words can't do justice to- they've assembled ingredients unique to the area and combined it with classic comfort and absolute attention to detail. The flavours are incredible at every step and take you on a journey of the area. The wine pairings are excellent - both in the presentation which is full of historical character, but most crucially they complement the courses perfectly and provide an exciting and interesting companion for your culinary journey. The restaurant is surrounded by incredible natural beauty and provides a wonderful backdrop for your experience. Overall the stay was absolutely wonderful and flawless, I can't recommend them enough ”
